Home cinema install: Let's take it outside
Before planning was submitted and the general style and finish of the cinema chosen, demonstrations at Finite Solution’s own 'show house' helped nail down the AV kit-list. Sound quality was high on the agenda, leading to an immersive 7.2.4-channel array using architectural speakers and subwoofers from Bowers & Wilkins, plus an Anthem MRX 1140 (with ARC Genesis EQ) for power and processing. Maintaining the 'real-world' hardware vibe is a DLA-NP5 4K projector from JVC, working in tandem with a Projecta acoustically transparent 3.6m-wide 16:9 screen, plus Panasonic 4K Blu-ray, Apple TV and Sky Q sources.
Being an external system, Finite added a point-to-point Wi-Fi mesh solution to stabilise connectivity. Also in the kit-rack, adjacent to the main room in a lobby area, is a Furman UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) unit to manage mains distribution and protect the AV rig from energy spikes. Lutron lighting and Control4 system integration add slick finishing touches.
