Animation flick Trolls World Tour (pictured) will be the first such day-and-date release when it lands in the Sky Store April 6. Other flicks, including The Hunt and The Invisible Man, will arrive this Friday, having already premiered at cinemas in recent weeks.
The films will be available for 48-hour rental, priced £15.99.
Said Stephen van Rooyen, CEO, Sky UK and Europe: 'We’re working hard at Sky to make sure we continue to look after our customers. We’re also introducing some things to help make life a little easier for anyone at home trying to work, stay connected to loved ones, or keep the family entertained.'
Other initiatives announced include making Sky Go Extra free to all Sky customers, enabling multi-device (and offline) on-demand viewing of Sky content; free UK landline calls for Sky Talk customers until the end of April; and a free 10GB data boost to Sky Mobile users.
And in news that's likely to be welcomed by housebound families, Disney+ and YouTube Kids will be arriving on Sky Q 'in the coming weeks'.
