Optoma announces new HD26 Full HD projector
Projector specialist Optoma has announced a new Full HD projector costing around £650.
The Optoma HD26 aims to be a true home entertainment projector, claiming a high brightness of 3,200 Lumens suited to well-lit environments. Additionally, this single-chip DLP model offers 3D support, twin HDMI inputs (one MHL compatible for bigscreen viewing off a smartphone or tablet) and built-in 10W speaker system. Further connections are a 12V trigger for automated screens and a 3.5mm analogue output for external speakers.
Those who love fragging on a bigscreen will be intrigued by the HD26's gaming mode, which Optoma claims provides optimum response times and heightened contrast and colours for a 'vivid' experience.
In terms of other specifcations, the Optoma HD26 boasts a 25,000:1 contrast ratio delivered via Dynamic Black technology, Texas Instruments' BrilliantColour processing, a 6,500 lamp life, a 1.1x manual zoom, 1.48-1.62:1 throw ratio and vertical keystone correction.
'The HD26 is an all-round home entertainment projector, combining high brightness with cinematic picture performance to produce a big bright super-sized image in any living space,' reckons Optoma's product marketing honcho Justin Halls.
