Indiana Jones: 4-Movie Collection confirmed for 4K Blu-ray release in UK on June 7
Released to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Steven Spielberg's action adventure masterpiece Raiders of the Lost Ark, and featuring the film's current three sequels (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, ...The Last Crusade and ...The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), the set debuts new 4K masters and Dolby Atmos soundmixes.
Paramount says Spielberg has approved the picture work done on all four titles: 'Each film has been meticulously remastered from 4K scans of the original negatives with extensive visual effects work done to ensure the most pristine and highest quality image.'
HDR grades are HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
Audio-wise, the quartet of Harrison Ford adventures will feature new Dolby Atmos soundtracks, remixed at Skywalker Sound under the supervision of sound designer Ben Burtt – who was the original sound designer of Raiders of the Lost Ark, not to mention Spielberg's E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial and producer George Lucas's Star Wars franchise.
Says Paramount: 'All original sound elements were used to achieve the fully immersive Dolby Atmos mixes while staying true to each film’s original creative intent.'
The boxset will include 4K and Blu-ray discs for each movie, plus a further platter housing legacy bonus features, including Making of... documentaries and behind-the-scenes looks at music, VFX, casting, props, locations and 'creepy crawlies.'
The £80 set will also include a double-sided map. Steelbook fans, meanwhile, can snap up a Zavvi-exclusive release priced £130.
