Independence Day coming to Ultra HD Blu-ray
Sci-fi blockbuster will touch down on the 4K disc format in advance of sequel hitting cinemas
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the 1996 sci-fi blockbuster Independence Day on Ultra HD Blu-ray in the US on June 7. The three-disc set (1x Ultra HD Blu-ray, 2x Blu-rays) promises newly restored 4K presentations of both the original theatrical cut and the extended cut of the film, plus an all-new half-hour documentary entitled Independence Day: A Legacy Surging Forward. As yet, there is no UK release date.
Fox's Independence Day Ultra HD Blu-ray arrives in the lead-up to the cinema release of Independence Day: Resurgence, which will be invading cinemas across the UK from June 24. To give you a flavour of what to expect from the sequel, here's the latest trailer...
