Humax unveils new Freesat HD box
Humax has bolstered its portfolio of STBs with the launch of the low-cost HB-1000S Freesat HD box.
Priced around £99 and available from today in the likes of John Lewis and Currys PC World, the HB-1000S also allows viewers to tune into over 180 free digital and radio channels, six of which are available to view in HD, with the promise of more to come in the New Year. It also features Freesat's freetime service, which brings a host of extra features to the subscription-free satellite platform including enhanced Catch-Up TV and On-Demand functionality.
'The affordable Humax HB-1000S brings the seamless freetime TV guide to cost conscious consumers', said Graham North, Commercial Director of Humax. 'It offers the first low-cost option for the freetime range, without compromising the performance and quality that TV viewers expect from Humax and Freesat'.
'The new Freesat HD with freetime box is a natural extention of our award-winning TV service, and it's great to build on the popularity of the service', added Freesat Chief Technology Officer Matthew Huntington. 'It's a product we're really proud of, offering the popular benefits of freetime such as Catch-Up and On-Demand TV, including BBC iPlayer, 4oD and YouTube, via a slick TV guide which rolls back in time and also gives recommendations on what to watch'.
