This Blu-ray debut for Disney’s take on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ ape-man is every bit as frustrating as that for The Fox and the Hound. Visually it fares much better, with a beautifully presented AVC 1.78:1 1080p encode, but this disc can’t even muster a lossless soundtrack, only offering a 'lossy' Dolby Digital 5.1 mix – a cardinal sin for a modern movie released on Blu-ray.

Taxi Driver remains the highpoint of Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro many cinematic collaborations. Which is quite something when you consider that this 1976 masterpiece had to beat out Raging Bull and Goodfellas for that particular honour.

Smash hit comedy Ted stars Mark Wahlberg as John, an amiable slacker whose best friend just happens to be a teddy bear that he wished to life when he was a kid (voiced by MacFarlane in full-on Peter Griffin mode). Which would be fine, if continually blowing off work to get stoned with a stuffed toy wasn't the kind of thing that might spoil things with the love of your life (Mila Kunis).

Before it became synonymous with cartoons and action figures, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began life as an independent comic book that set out to parody the most popular superhero comics of the early 1980s.

Superb 4K visuals, a class-leading 5.1 mix and an excellent Making of.. documentary make Tenet's UHD Blu-ray release one to snap up – even if the movie isn't Nolan's finest.

The Future War is over. Skynet has been defeated. All that remains is for resistance leader John Connor (Jason Clarke) to send Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his unsuspecting mother Sarah (Emilia Clarke) from the T-800 cyborg assassin (Arnold Schwarzenegger) that Skynet sent through time to kill her. But when Kyle arrives in 1984, not only is Sarah waiting for him, but she also has her own tame T-800…

Tobe Hooper's legendary Texas Chain Saw Massacre has spawned some pretty dreadful sequels and spin-offs in its time – but none quite as bad as this.

Deep in sleepy suburbia, Ray (Tom Hanks) and his neighbours begin to wonder if the recent (foreign) arrivals in their cul-de-sac are up to no good. Egged on by his friends' fanciful imaginations, the sight of people digging holes in the middle of the night and some strange noises from their basement, Ray is soon investigating the possibility that his neighbours are serial murderers. Is he right, or has a lifetime of small-town living turned him paranoid?

A family comedy act that hit it big on the stage during the 1920s, the Marx Brothers' reliance on humorous wordplay as much as other visual vaudeville humour meant a move to the bigscreen was basically a nonstarter until the arrival of the 'talkies'. But as soon as that technology was established, Hollywood – in the form of Paramount Pictures – came calling for Groucho, Chico, Harpo and Zeppo.

The A-Team is an extremely silly film – an over-the-top cavalcade of ludicrous action, broad humour and macho attitude that rarely ever stops for breath. But, what else were you really expecting from a movie remake of this particular ‘80s TV franchise?

The Adjustment Bureau is the latest in a long line of middling Hollywood films to by inspired by the writings of Philip K Dick – in this case a loose adaptation of his 1954 short story The Adjustment Team. Essentially a discussion of the play between free will and destiny masquerading as a sci-fi-infused romantic thriller, the film stars Matt Damon as a promising congressman who falls for Emily Blunt’s carefree dancer. Trouble is, destiny has other plans for the duo, and before long the mysterious agents of the Adjustment Bureau are hot on their tale and trying to keep the pair apart to ensure that everything runs like it should.

Rock star/neurosurgeon/particle physicist Buckaroo Banzai (Peter Weller) is called upon to save the day when Earth is threatened by inter-dimensional 'Lectroids from Planet 10' led by the insane Dr. Lizardo (John Lithgow). The very definition of a cult film, …Buckaroo Banzai is like nothing else you've ever seen. Packed full of crazy characters and concepts, this bonkers genre hybrid is borderline incoherent at times, but it's also a absolute blast of pure, unadulterated, nutty fantasy that should leave a big grin on your face.

When Richard the Lionheart is taken captive on his way back to England from fighting in the Holy Land, his duplicitous brother Prince John (Claude Rains) usurps the throne and begins oppressing the Saxon populace through a combination of high taxes and violence. But Prince John hadn't counted on Saxon nobleman Sir Robin of Locksley (Errol Flynn), who gathers together a band of like-minded outlaws dedicated to opposing the royal rotter.

Despite being a leading light in world cinema since the 1980s, the work of Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar has been under-represented on UK Blu-ray. Indeed, until the arrival of this boxset, only his three most recent films had been released on hi-def platters over here.
