Horror-comedy classic Tremors to break ground on 4K Blu-ray this December
For the debut UHD release of the 1990 movie, which stars Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as smalltown handymen battling subterranean monsters, Arrow has conducted a new 4K restoration using the original negative, approved by both director Ron Underwood and cinematographer Alexander Gruszynski.
Accompanying the 4K Dolby Vision HDR/HDR 10 presentation is a restored 2.0 stereo track in DTS-HD MA, plus 4.0 and 5.1 surround options.
A host of new features join the movie on its 4K platter, including a new commentary by Underwood and writers Brent Maddock & S.S. Wilson ; a second commentary track by Jonathan Melville, author of Seeking Perfection: The Unofficial Guide to Tremors ; and Making Perfection, a new retrospective documentary featuring interviews with cast and crew.
There are also additional interviews with produced Nancy Roberts and cinematographer Alexander Gruszynski, plus featurettes covering VFX design, music and the film's edited-for-TV version.
Arrow Video's double-disc Special Edition comes with a 60-page book and is loaded with new extra features.
