Easter Parade review
Fred Astaire and Judy Garland's classic musical gets brushed up for Blu-ray
Not even the combined star power of Fred Astaire (coming back out of retirement after Gene Kelly broke his ankle) and Judy Garland can make Easter Parade anything more than a not-entirely-convincing attempt at repackaging a litany of old MGM musical numbers. Not that any of this has stopped Warner Bros. from delivering yet another gorgeous Technicolor restoration for the film's Blu-ray debut. The richly-coloured AVC 1.37:1 1080p encode and DTS-HD MA mono sonics both flatter the source material, and informative extras include a commentary and 1951 radio adaptation.
