Terminator 2: Judgment Day 30th Anniversary edition 4K/3D Blu-rays announced

Studiocanal is revisiting Terminator 2: Judgment Day on 4K Blu-ray with a trio of 30th Anniversary special editions set for release December 6.

The boxsets all include the film's 3D Blu-ray presentation, Theatrical, Special Edition and Extended Special Edition cuts on Full HD BD, and feature new artwork (pictured below) from designer Tracie Ching.

Studiocanal's Endo Skull Limited Edition will be exclusive to UK retailer Zavvi, and houses its three discs (4K BD, BD and 3D BD) in the base of a 30cm-high replica endoskeleton skull. Priced £150 and limited to just 1100 numbered copies, it also comes with a booklet.

Meanwhile, the Terminator 2: Judgment Day Vinyl Edition is priced £60 and comes with a double-disc LP of Brad Fiedel's soundtrack.

The Steelbook edition is priced £28.

Studiocanal previously debuted the movie on 4K Blu-ray in 2017. The 4K HDR presentation was somewhat baffling, however, as it appeared to be based on the film's 3D remaster, and showcased obvious digital smoothing.

We'd hope the label and Cameron have rectified this for the film's 30th Anniversary disc release, but we doubt it... Terminator_2_4K_new_artwork.jpg
