SVS announces affordable 1000 Pro subwoofer series

American subwoofer/loudspeaker brand SVS has announced two new models, both aimed at bass-fiends shopping on a tight budget.

The new 1000 Series Pro comes in ported and sealed variants, and introduces features previously seen on SVS's higher-priced ranges.

Both the sealed SB-1000 Pro and ported PB-1000 Pro feature a new, proprietary 12in long-throw woofer, and use Sledge STA-325D amplifiers (rated at 325W RMS and over 800W peak output).

Also new to the 1000 Series is SVS's Bluetooth control/EQ app (first launched on its flagship 16-Ultra Series), and Intelligent Control Interface panel.

Pricing is designed to tempt. The SB-1000 Pro, which comes in a compact enclosure measuring a mere 34cm wide and 35cm deep, will sell for £550 in black ash (pictured, top), and £640 in black or white gloss.

The larger PB-1000 Pro, meanwhile, is £640 in black ash.

Says SVS President Gary Yacoubian: 'I have no doubt audio fans will be blown away by what these subwoofers deliver. Compared to their predecessors and the competition, 1000 Pro Series are a quantum leap forward.'

Both the SB-1000 Pro and PB-1000 Pro will hit retail this month through SVS's UK distributor Karma-AV.
