Klipsch aims for cinematic immersion with new 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos soundbar system

US loudspeaker corp Klipsch has announced a new range of soundbars, topped off by a 5.1.4-channel system promising 'a bona fide Dolby Atmos cinematic experience.'

Priced at a premium £1,450, the new Klipsch Cinema 1200 features wireless surrounds, a 12in wireless subwoofer and a main soundbar enclosure showcasing the company's Tractrix horn-loaded tweeter technology.

Specifications include one-in, two-out HDMI connectivity (supporting 4K HDR passthrough and eARC); Bluetooth; onboard Wi-Fi for multiroom integration with Spotify Connect, Amazon Alexa and Google Home; and custom-tuned dialogue enhancement settings.

The styling of the system can be pimped with interchangeable walnut end caps.

Says Klipsch: 'Set up the Cinema 1200 and your habitat is now home to 1200 watts of power, brought to you by a maker with decades of professional cinema acoustic research and development.'

The Cinema 1200 will arrive 'early 2021' and will be joined by Klipsch's Cinema 800 (£900), a 3.1-channel system with Dolby Atmos decoding, 10in subwoofer and optional expansion to 5.1 via the brand's Surround 3 speakers.

Arriving in the UK before the end of the year are two other soundbars in the Cinema series: the 3.1 Cinema 600 (£550) and 2.1 Cinema 400 (£380).
