An innocent young woman (Grazyna Dlugolecka) journeys across Europe searching for the man she loves, only to end up trapped in a moral quagmire of adultery, prostitution and murder.

One of the odder horror franchises of the VHS era, the House series spans four films, three of which have nothing linking them to each other apart from their titles and some creative personnel.

Late one night, 12-year-old Conor O'Malley (Lewis MacDougal) is visited by a giant tree-like Monster (voiced by Liam Neeson), who tells the boy that he will recount three true stories, but after that Conor must tell him a story about the terrible truth that haunts his nightmares. For his part, Conor becomes convinced that the Monster has been summoned to save his mother (Rogue One… star Felicity Jones), who is undergoing treatment for cancer.

During its 120-year journey to the planet Homestead II, the colony ship Avalon encounters an asteroid field and suffers a system failure. This results in one of the spacecraft's 5,000 passengers, mechanical engineer Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), being awoken from his hibernation pod 90 years ahead of schedule.

The reborn Star Wars movie universe continues in exhilarating fashion with this adventure that gives the main Luke/Leia narrative a swerve and feels all the better for it. While 2015's The Force Awakens got somewhat bogged down in rehashing old Star Wars plots and bringing back old cast members, Rogue One always feels fresh and is populated by (mostly) new characters.

Stripped of his role as official executioner after being falsely accused of wishing for the Shogun's death, Ogami Itto (Tomisaburo Wakayama) opts to spend the rest of his life wandering Japan as an assassin for hire, accompanied by his young son Daigoro (Tomikawa Akihiro) in a tooled-up baby cart.

When a young boy's mother freaks out after catching him doing a jigsaw of a naked lady, he responds by hacking mummy to pieces with an axe. Flash forward several decades and a chainsaw-wielding maniac is slicing his way through the female students at a Boston college. Could these events be linked?
