From the country that brought us mythical beasts like the Minotaur comes a speaker system that’s something of a titan itself. Athens-based Crystal Acoustics has unleashed the T2-5.2-UL, a THX Ultra2-certified speaker system with floorstanding fronts, dipole rears and not one but two subwoofers. And all for under £2,000.

Ever since some enterprising young programmers at MIT first cooked up the game Spacewar! on a PD-1 mini computer in the early '60s, shooting things has played an integral part in the history of videogames. Gearbox Software's gun-obsessed Borderlands 2 is the natural culmination of this trend.

What can be said about the second part of Romero's epic zombie saga that hasn't be written before? Not much I'd wager given the weight of critical and academic analysis it has been repeatedly subjected to since its original release back in 1978. As such I'm not going to waste much time on the movie itself, after all every self-respecting horror fan will already be familiar with the film (in all of its many incarnations - replicated here with the inclusion of three different cuts) and those who have yet to see it are in for a gore-filled treat with an underlying subtext that is every bit as relevant today as it was thirty-plus years ago. As such, I'll just skip the waffle and reiterate the oft-repeated claim that Dawn of the Dead remains one of the greatest, and most influential, horror films ever made.

Televisions are like shoes. They get comfortable real quick. Buyers tend to agonise over which screen size best suits their room, debating endlessly the merits of 42in versus 46in panels, but the simple fact is that in 97.3* per cent of all cases (*actual figure may vary) they buy a telly they’ll conclude is too small within days.

With so many iPod/iPad docks coming to market, manufacturers are having to work harder to make their products stand out from the crowd. LG’s approach with the new ND8520 is to adopt a radical, retro-infused styling – at a time when many rivals are exploring curved edges and clean lines. Looking like an oversized, all-black Rubik’s Cube will certainly help grab buyers’ attention, but what may look good on a shop shelf doesn’t always fit in well at home.

How soon is too soon when it comes to rebooting a popular film franchise? It’s only been five years since the release of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, but here we have a film that goes back to the beginning for the web-slinging superhero.

The past few years have seen the world's two largest football franchises undergoing something of a transformation. While Konami's PES series has been in something of a Liverpool-like freefall recently, EA Sports' FIFA brand has become the football game equivalent of Manchester City, delivering a level of tactical player and ability that nobody would have predicted several years ago.

Toshiba’s 55ZL2 rewrites TV history on not one but two fronts, comes fully-loaded with unprecedented amounts of processing power and looks amazing to boot. In other words, it’s the shape of TVs to come. Yet there are a few bumps along the way...

This well-specified but inexpensive 1080p DLP projector could have many potential system upgraders considering projection for the first time. After all, for the cost of a 46in LED TV you could be enjoying images three times the size. It’s a tempting proposition, not least because this BenQ PJ is a beautiful-looking piece of hardware.

Wisely ignoring the recent movies, this latest Transformers game is a direct sequel to developer High Moon Studios' 2010 hit War for Cybertron. Featuring appearances by old 'Generation One' characters as diverse as Grimlock, Shockwave, Warpath and the gigantic Metroplex, the game serves as an enormous burst of nostalgia for anyone who grew up with the original toys and cartoon back in the 1980s.
