Pig out on new 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' footage

Sony Pictures has released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming animated comic book movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, giving fans their first look at the film's bevy of Spider-themed heroes, including Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir and Peter Porker Spider-Ham!

Hitting UK cinemas on December 14, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse takes place in an alternate dimension where the young Miles Morales is Spider-Man. But when an experiment goes awry, Miles discovers that there's an entire multiverse of other Spider-heroes out there, which is where the likes of Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Japanese schoolgirl Peni Parker and talking pig Spider-Ham come in!

Produced by The LEGO Movie's Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the film's voice cast includes Shameik Moore (Miles Morales/Spider-Man), Jake Johnson (Peter Parker/Spider-Man), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen), Nicolas Cage (Spider-Man Noir), Kimiko Glenn (Peni Parker), John Mulaney (Peter Porker/Spider-Ham), Liev Schreiber (Kingpin) and Mahershala Ali (Prowler).

As can be seen from the trailer below, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse employs a highly-stylise comic book aesthetic and provides plenty of nod and winks for franchise fans (including recreating key sequences from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy)...
